johan van hengel designs

Last week we visited an event, where we met the beautiful designs of designer Johan van Hengel. Johan graduated in 2004 as Industrial Designer and since then he works for bigger brands from Artifort till Huawei. As industrial designer he was the winner of the Elle Decoration Talent Award in 2010, had collaborations with Hay, Muuto and Montis and his work was shown at the Milan Design Week and at Salone Satellite.

Johan works by solving problems, the Amulet got shape after a research to LED lighting and Folded is designed to separate daily essentials in a stylish way. With his focus on function, materiality and technique, he invests everyday shapes and objects with a subtle element of surprise.
