In my previous post I already shared some inspiration images of The Sculptors Residence at Stockholm Design week but of course there was much more to admire!

One of the other most remarkable exhibitions, The Archive, took place in the Old National Archive in Stockholm. The Archive has brought together four strong design brands from Japan and Denmark, highlighting shared aesthetics and values. Ariake, 2016/ Arita, Friends and founders and LE KLINT were presenting existing collections and new pieces. The exhibition was curated by Hanna Nova Beatrice and styled by Annaleena Leino and looked stunning , don’t you think so? I remember their successful collaboration from last year at the Fenix Palace (here) which looked amazing too!

At the same time, many new collections have been launched at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. One of our favorite brands; &Tradition has introduced new product lines ; Mid-century design gems, home accessories and portable lamps.

For the past 10 years, &Tradition has reissued the works of highly influential designers - including Verner Panton's Flowerpot lamp and Arne Jacobsen and Flemming Larsen's Mayor sofa. This year, the brand is introducing a collection of furniture originally designed by 1950s Danish designer duo Hvidt & Mølgaard. Retrieved from hand-drawn sketches with the help of the designers' families, the pieces include meticulously designed tables, chairs and lamps - some of which are entering production for the first time.

Alongside reissuing past designs, &Tradition collaborates with acclaimed international designers to create future classics. Danish studio Space Copenhagen was involved in several designs showcased for the first time in Stockholm this year. These a newly crafted line of home objects named &Tradition Collect. Comprising a selection of cushions, throws and planters, the designers favoured the use of high-quality natural textiles and subdued, earthy tones, and designed each piece to be mixed and matched with others.

Also designed by Space Copenhagen and defined by an elegant, soft shape and dark curving lines around the base and handle, Lucca is a portable and dimmable lamp that can fit any space and purpose - be it indoors, or out.

After reissuing Viggo Boesen's Little Petra lounge chair, originally produced in the 1930s and fought over at auctions around the world, &Tradition is introducing the same design in the form of a two-seater sofa. Entering production for the first time, the product's design strictly follow's Viggo Boesen's meticulous craftmanship, by relying on original hand-drawn sketches.  You will find more &Tradition news here - Elvera
