3 days of design in Copenhagen, although we are not able to be their ourselves this year, we will for sure spam you the following days, maybe weeks, with all the Scandinavian design news that filled our e-mail inbox this week.

Starting with Vipp. One of the brands that will always be a favorite is definitely Vipp. I've visited them several times, including their beautiful cabin in the woods of Sweden. And now they introduced, for the very first time, solid wood furniture, crafted from solid oak. - Vivian

Simple and airy yet sturdy and refined are appropriate labels describing the furniture trio that comes in either light or dark oak. The organic idiom is expressed by softly rounded components with subtle details such as invisible joins and grooved surfaces. The chair comes with or without seat padding. The raw material is sourced in Europe and the marble top holds the prestigious ‘Jura’ label.

“Given our historical predilection for steel products, our venture into wood, which is an organic and natural material, marks quite a shift. Yet, our design process holds the same refinement and attention to detail whether we shape steel or wood”, says Morten Bo Jensen, Chief designer at Vipp.

From being primarily an accessory brand, Vipp now unfolds an array of furniture offerings.

“In our effort to design holistic interior experiences, we saw the need to embrace material contrasts between hard and soft, which explains why we have welcomed textile and wood into Vipp’s material palette”, explains Morten Bo Jensen.

The name ‘Cabin’ derives from an architecture project to be revealed by Vipp later this year.
