One of the nicest things during the Summer holidays - and when the holidays are almost over - are the mails from the design brands announcing their new collections.. Last week, when I came home from our holiday address in France, I started reading my mail now and then and when I saw the one from MENU about their Cocoon Textile collection, I was interested immediately.

MENU has introduced the Battus throw and the Mimoides Pillow and these new additions instantly made me long for late cozy summer evenings outside in our garden, in which the beautiful throws come in perfectly don't you think so? What is your favorite color? - Elvera

Part of MENU’s Cocoon Textile Collection, the luxurious Battus Throw is produced in Europe from the finest quality materials selected for tactility. An enticing composition of soft, 96% Italian wool is woven with silk to form an elegant frame around the outer edges. The prevalence of monomaterials allows the Battus Throw to be disassembled and reused at the end of its long life. At 130 x 185cm, Battus is an ideal cosy companion within living or bedroom spaces and is offered in an earthy palette of Burnt Sienna, Ochre, Indigo and Ivory.

In an exclusive MENU collaboration, Danish architects and designers Mathias Mentze and Alexander Ottenstein joined forces with textile expert Marie-Louise Rosholm to create the Cocoon Collection. Mathias Mentze is an Architect MAA and design lecturer at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He has run his own studios since 2015 and works across scales with a goal to infuse design with history, craft and tactility. Mentze works closely with Architect MAA Alexander Ottenstein, whose experience at high-profile Danish firms has led him towards an independent enquiry into the “smaller scale” projects he is most passionate about. Rosholm is a textile designer with decades of experience working for brands around the world. She has a strong focus on sustainability and believes that design has a very important role to play in this challenge. She is the founder of Danish Color Board and president of Intercolor
