“To me, sustainability is being mindful. First and foremost, it is about making and growing something in an ethical and sustainable manner, or recycling and reusing if not. I also want to make sure that everyone in the production chain is being rewarded fairly for what they do, without being exploited.” — Gosia Piatek, Founder & Creative Director.'

In addition to discovering beautiful interior design, beautiful places in cities or in nature, I can really enjoy a beautiful inspiring decorated shop ... During the travels we have made recently I came across several of them and when I saw the images of the first store of New Zealand brand Kowtow I wanted to visit this store myself immediately!

Founded in 2007 by Gosia Piatek, Kowtow is a conscious label with a strong design philosophy and innate sense of comfort. Described as minimalist and effortless, the Kowtow aesthetic is inspired by Gosia’s interests in art, architecture, culture, craftsmanship, landscapes and her own travels. Their collections are entirely made with sustainably and ethically sourced materials.

Japanese architecture inspired architect and interior designer Rudolf Knight to design this fashion store in Wellington, which is defined by a sequence of slatted timber panels that reflects the eco-friendly ethos of the space. The store's facade of large panels of frameless glazing is designed so that passersby can have a more open view of the shop activities. The front part of the space has been furnished with a modular sofa,  a dark grey rug and a oversized lamp...

Beautiful minimalism, that we can't admire often enough don't you think so!'
